Mikado in Naha

We stumbled into this Shokudo without any expectation. I had Stir-fry mustard leaf with spam, bits of tuna and gluten-wheat bread. The last ingredient was absolutely amazing. It looks like egg, but soft and chewy. You should try this dish. It is out of this World.

Nothing feels more local than watching 5 Okinawan auntie's cooking up your dish right in front of you. I ordered the Okinawan egg over rice (#1 recommended dish on their menu) and it was no mistake. Taste is smooth and full of umami. I saw other people's orders flying by and seems like other popular dishes include the pork and eggplant stir fry with miso and katsudon. I can't wait to come back again to try them!

Homely Okinawan cuisine in a cozy environment. The kitchen is open and there are both counter seats and tables.The special is Okinawa-style Chanpon.It's a place to go in 4-6 people max.

Nice local place. Inexpensive and delicious. They have English menu. Tried beef and tofu with garlic. Really tasted good and I highly recommend it.

Aunties were so friendly. They speak little English. The food absolute yummy. We ordered yakisoba and it's huge portion. The aunty was so worry and even asked if we want fork instead of chopstick.. the price also not that pricey .. recommended!
